Wedding Guests

When guests are invited to a wedding, the purpose is to gladden the hearts of the bride and the groom. But there are always guests who care only for their own pleasure, and who pay no attention to the young couple. In the same way, the purpose of our life in this world is to strive for the union of G-d and Israel, His bride, through the performance of mitzvos and good deeds. But some of us are neglectful of this task, and concern ourselves only with our own enjoyment.
