A Toupee As A Yarmulke

Can a man fulfill his obligation to cover his head by wearing a toupee - or does this get away from the true intent of wearing a yarmulke?

Can anyone think of another example of a person fulfilling a mitzva in technicality but not in intent?

I think every Mitzva can qualify there...

R. Moshe Feinstein ruled that a toupee is insufficient.

The shaitel of course.
That's why I don't wear them (except maybe on Purim)

Gil and Batya: It looks like Rivka K's comment touched on both of your ideas, however Gil, she seems to contradict your information about Igros Moshe. Do you happen to have a citation to validate your comment (which undoubtedly is correct)?

You have to come up with a picture and name for your own model.
