You mentioned that the "Breslov method" (keeping in mind that this might not be used by all or even most Breslovers)is closest to what Rav Lazer Brody shlita showed you. How do the two methods differ?
I should say that the man in the video is Rabbi Aryeh Schechter. His website has a tefiilin page that I highly recommend. It many more related videos and has pictures of even more different hand winding methods, as well as pictures of Rashi and R' Tam tefillin worn together.

Rabbi Brody taught me to wind the first circuit above the knuckle, the second circuit over the knuckle, and the third circuit over both the middle finger and ring finger.
I noticed in the video that the third circuit wrapped once around the middle finger and another time around both middle finger and the ring finger.

the minhag that you said R' Brody showed you
is very similar to mine
yet a very prominent, respected , and knowledgeable sofer told me that the last one ( around both fingers) wouldn't count as one of the three mandatory wraps on the middle finger and would have to do the same way the video shows the breslov minhag
is this true
is there any sefer that clearly says that the last wrap (around both fingers) counts as one of the mandatory 3
